MilkDonalds

This week marks the end of breastfeeding for me for Keziah. I always feel a mixture of sadness, guilt and loss each time I stop as I wish I can give more. With Jedidiah, he only had my milk for about 6 months after which I stopped out of pure laziness and I dreaded the pumping. With Krisalyn, she only had it for 5 months as I was juggling looking after a young Jedidiah and her as well as pumping. So gave up quickly too.

This time with Keziah, I told myself that since she will most probably be our last little one, I will try to see how long I can do it for. Many pple have told me to latch my kiddies but I find I can only do it in the hospital! Furthermore, one needs to be relaxed when feeding and it was honestly hard to be at times when having to keep an eye on the older ones. So as always I end up pumping. Every three hours which was really tiring. This was another issue for me as I always admire mummies who just pop their babes under their slings etc and nurse them happily and quickly. Unlike me where I had to bring my pump, glass jars, ice packs and 'gong' to warm up the expressed breastmilk each time I went out. But I guess the good side of pumping is that I could see how much milk she was getting and could fit her into a routine quickly to sleep from 7 to 7 each day.

But I'm glad i persevered and this time I stopped as 'MilkDonalds' has run out of milk! After pumping regularly for 13 1/2 months, I think my supply has been depleted. I wish I had more but I guess this is the best I have done amongst the three! So am going through a kind of 'mourning' phase over my milk. silly eh? being emo over milk! But my comfort is that all three kiddies are doing well and growing strong.

Now its time to also continue to give them spiritual milk by guiding them in the ways of the Lord. For that I really need His wisdom and grace each day.

Playing with Ah Mah

Some snap shots of our two gals having fun with my mum when she was back during the June hols. They had fun with masa masa and imaginative play and giving them loads of hugs and kisses. We miss you Ah-mah!

Empty Wallets and Comfort Food!

Decided to be 'brave' last Saturday. Since Keziah arrived I have only brought them on my own to Lot One which is like a ten min walk from our place. So decided to bring them in a cab down to meet Dan at his office around City Hall.

All went well, but I realized I didn't have ANY money in my wallet! Being too lazy yo lug the kids all the way to the ATM machine, I boarded the cab confident that the cab would have the NETS machine thingy. Alas it DIDN'T! it was those older taxis without the machine.

I didn't panic yet as I thought I could use Dan as my lifeline. So I called him and asked him to wait at the taxi stand at City Hall. Keziah was beginning to get fussy as its was her sleeping time for her noon nap. Soothed her with her pacifier and thankfully the older two were being as good as gold strapped up and just sitting quietly.

Finally reached the taxi stand but Dan wasn't there. Being a real suaku as haven't gone to town in ages, I forgot that City Hall has more than 1 taxi stand. He was at the Swissotel one. But as I had no cash I couldn't get out of the cab and the taxi couldn't wait for him to come over as other taxis needed to move off and it was a one way lane! So I had to ask the driver to drive to the taxi stand at Swissotel.

BUT as it was NDP rehearsal, the roads were all blocked! The driver had to make a HUGE round going into ERP gantries and all and I had to pay an additional $12 just to get to that taxi stand which was like 1 min away! Super frustrating but I have myself to blame as I went with an empty wallet!

Finally, met Dan who kindly paid for the bomb of a fare and didn't nag at me thankfully! But was really pissed at myself for spending so much $$!! hard lesson to learn.

Anyway, we had a good meal together and food is always a comfort to the soul! Keziah indulged in fries, bread and ice-cream. She just loves to join in when we eat so it was a really nice lunch out.

I'm small but I'm ONE!

Our littlest person in the house has turned her big ONE on 11th July 2010!

Had a small celebration with family and close friends to celebrate her special day. Was really glad my mum could be here for her first birthday! (wish you were too Papa!)

She has been truly a wonderful blessing to the family. Her sweet smiles, affectionate muacks and funny antics have brought so much joy to the family. She has been a really good baby too in terms of not being fussy about food and being a good sleeper! Sleeps at 6.30 at night till 7.30 the next day so it's great as it gives us the much needed rest after a long day.

We thank the Lord for bringing her into our lives and pray that she will grow healthy and strong. We pray too that she will be the sweet-scented spice as her name means who will bring much joy to those around her and that she will have a loving relationship with her older siblings.

Thank you Lord for the little life that you have given to us and continue to give us the wisdom to nurture her in Your ways. Amen.
