Maggie Mee Tales

Often, I don't have time to get myself a proper nutritious meal. The kind that I enforce on my kids like the daily dose of protein, veggies, carbohydrates and fruit! Time is just an excuse honestly speaking as I would much rather eat unhealthy stuff like ice-cream for breakfast, cookies and milk for tea and drinking lots and lots of Bubble Tea!

So I usually make myself a bowl of Maggie Mee for lunch. But I can't enjoy it and have to eat it with much guilt and justification. Now that my two older kids are older, they ask endless questions about life ...especially Jedidiah! He would ask me:
'Not fair Mummy! How come you get to eat Maggie Mee everyday but we can't???'

To which I would try to reply 'sensibly':

'Mummy doesn't have time so I just make something simple for myself...'

Jedi's quick reply:

' well, you can always eat our food, there is more than enough you know!'

Honestly, I wouldn't want to eat their food. As it's really healthy food like steamed fish with rice and soup etc.

Then, I would have to face a whole round of questioning especially from Jedidiah on why I could drink iced coffee or have soya bean chinchow when we go out but he can't take ice-lemon tea. I told him that he was too young to drink iced tea (lame explanation) and he swiftly asked how come I could. I told him that I could do all that

'Because I'm all grown up and have finished growing but you need to grow and need to eat good food!'

I think I'm a very bad example at times!

Another guilty secret? I secretly munch on their party pack goodies too!
